How We Built It
We architected a custom full-stack platform using Next.js with PostgreSQL as the primary database, designed to handle the unique needs of fitness operations. The member dashboard provides comprehensive progress tracking — workout history, goal progression, attendance patterns, and nutrition logging — creating an experience that keeps members engaged between studio visits. The centerpiece is an AI Virtual Fitness Coach built on RAG architecture with OpenAI, trained on the studio's programming philosophy, nutrition guidelines, and frequently asked questions. Members can ask questions 24/7 about form, nutrition, recovery, and programming, receiving accurate answers that align with the studio's coaching methodology. This dramatically reduced the repetitive questions that were overwhelming coaches. The affiliate and referral engine provides complete commission tracking with automated payouts through Stripe integration. A coach command center aggregates member data to surface churn risk alerts, engagement scores, and prioritization guidance so coaches focus their attention where it matters most. Sales and retention automations handle lead nurturing sequences, win-back campaigns for at-risk members, and celebration messages for milestone achievements. Twilio powers all notification workflows for scheduling reminders, payment alerts, and personalized coaching messages.
